Artisans working on crafts

Our JeevanKala crafts are now available for purchase online! Please visit www.jeevankala.com to shop.  JeevanKala products are handcrafted by artisans from the remote Himalayan mountain villages of Lapa, Tipling and Shertung. They are made using discarded plastic wrappers from popular manufactured food products brought in from cities. Recycling programs have been started in the villages to encourage the collection of the non-biodegradable trash and to bring awareness to the importance of protecting the natural ecology.JeevanKala is a member of the Fair Trade Federation, and sales of JeevanKala products support the artisans who make the products and the charitable programs of Himalayan HealthCare, including primary healthcare and community education. For wholesale information or a catalog, please contact us at (302) 533-8267 or .

All net proceeds from the handicraft sales are used to fund primary health care, medical and educational projects, giving to those involved in the production process a sense of pride that comes by helping and sustaining many others, in even greater need than themselves.
